Getting into the Christmas Spirit
This Christmas, Bristol's streets will glow with impressive Christmas decorations, from twinkling fairy lights to beautifully embellished Christmas trees. Let Bristol dazzle you with it's Christmas antics to help get you in the Christmas spirit.
Christmas Light Switch On
What better way to celebrate the commencement of this Christmas period than to experience Clifton’s captivating ‘Christmas Light Switch On’. The show will feature the biggest Christmas tree in the South-West, which will be wrapped up in an array of decorations and fairy lights. BBC Radio Bristol breakfast host, Emma Britton, will be there to help switch on the lights in support of BBC Radio Bristol’s Alive Appeal.
The 'Christmas Light Switch On' will take place on 7 November at the Mall Gardens in Clifton Village.
Ice Rink and Winter Fair
Bristol’s Ice Rink and Winter Fair are coming to Millennium Square for the fifth year in a row! The popular real-ice ice rink features a giant bauble that is the We The Curious Planetarium.
This winter playground also provides activities as part of the Winter Fair. The Après Bar provides post-skate refreshments in the form of cosy hot drinks and food. The bar is decked out with a crackling fire, quilted blankets and a dazzling Christmas tree. Step out into the crisp winter air to see the stunning ‘Skyview’ wheel, which is worth the trip for the beautiful views of Bristol’s wintery harbourside. Alternatively, opt for an outdoor film screening available throughout the season – there is something for everyone!
It will be open from 18 November to 16 January. Tickets for the ice rink cost £9.50 for adults and £7.50 for children for a 45-minute session. Reduced prices are available for group bookings and booking in advance online.
