Looking for some autumn fun this half term?  We have listed our top ten picks of October festivities! So grab a warm cuppa, have a relaxing read and plan some fun, maybe spooky, filled days out with the family this half term.


Farrington Pumpkin Picking

This year Farrington are opening their pumpkin fields again from the 9th of October to the 31st of October. Whether it’s wet or dry get stuck in exploring the fields of pumpkins and find your perfect pumpkin! Its a great family day out and the fun continues when you get home as you carve or decorate your pumpkin. Tickets need to be booked in advance of your trip which you can do so here.

Farrington's Witches Tea

You can also join Farrington for a bewitching twist on their popular afternoon tea. The cafe has been transformed into a spooktacular space ready for you to celebrate Halloween in style. Their Witches Tea includes an array of Halloween themed treats for you to enjoy including a selection of homemade sandwiches, savoury delights that embrace what the season has to offer. Enjoy, a pumpkin, cheddar and sage tart, a mini sausage roll and a shot of deliciously spiced pumpkin soup. You will also have a plentiful selection of spooky homemade sweet treats, and homemade scones with Midway Farm clotted cream and homemade strawberry jam. A takeaway version is also available (Monday- Saturday) through-out October for £12.50, enquire here.

Fear at Avon Valley

This October, Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park will once again be opening the doors to their terrifying Halloween event; FEAR Scream Park.  Voted the UK’s Best Scream Park in 2019. The event consists of 5 intense scare mazes: PHOBIA, ANARCHY:LIVE, X4, House of Clowns and VITA NOVA. In addition to the scare mazes, they have created a festival style experience with an immersive street theatre act and an immense fire show.  Frank and his troupe of freaks will be back to stalk the event site and you!  You’ll also find thrill rides, visuals, music, street food and bars. Re-opening of We The Curious

We The Curious will officially re-open in November with a ground-breaking new exhibition ‘Project What If’. We The Curious is an idea and a place for everyone. Filton Airfield Drive in Cinema

The ultimate DRIVE-IN CINEMA has come to Bristol! Even better the drive-in cinema has a whole host of Halloween classics to choose from this October! Avon Valley Pumpkin Patch is back and it's better than last year! Roam through the massive pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin.  Don’t want to get muddy? Step aboard the last Concorde at Aerospace Bristol

Aerospace Bristol is open and tickets are available to book now. Step aboard a British icon, Concorde Alpha Foxtrot. Capable of crossing the Atlantic in under three hours, Concorde cruised at over twice the speed of sound and reached an altitude of 60,000ft. Her passengers would marvel at the curvature of the Earth and look up at a blue-black sky, as they travelled at 1320mph and sipped Champagne on the edge of space.
