Visiting Bristol for the first time? One of the best ways to experience the city is through its markets. From street-food havens to independent maker stalls and historic arcades, the city’s markets are where Bristol’s creativity, community spirit, and love of good food really shine. Whether you’re visiting for a weekend or rediscovering your own city, here’s a guide to some of Bristol’s best markets and why they’re worth your time.

St Nicks Market

St Nick's Market is one of Bristol's oldest markets, trading since 1743; the market takes place on Corn Street and around The Exchange. The market hosts a large number of independent traders, selling goods, gifts and food. The market is especially known for its street food market, offering flavours from all around the world. Other markets are open daily. Known for its bustling atmosphere, St Nick’s Market perfectly captures Bristol’s independent spirit and should definitely be on your Bristol bucket list.

Street Food Market: First Friday of every month, 11:00 am - 2:30 pm

Check the website for the specific opening hours of the indoor market.

Tobacco Factory Market

The Tobacco Factory's Sunday market in Bedminster, Bristol, is a bustling, weekly community market from 10 am to 2:30 pm,  featuring around 60 stalls focused on ethical, local, and sustainable products. You will find a range of artisan foods, handmade crafts, vintage clothing, and plants. The market is known for its community feel and is worth visiting when in Bristol.

Whiteladies Road Market

Visit Whiteladies Road market for local food, home-baked goods and seasonal veg. The market takes place every Saturday from 8:30 am to 1 pm at the junction of Whiteladies Road and Aspley Road, BS8 2ST. The market has been running since 2006 and has lots on offer; grab a coffee and enjoy wandering around the stalls. The market has a strong community feel and is a nice environment to visit and experience for yourself when visiting the area!

Temple Quay Street Food Market

Located next to Temple Meads Station, the Temple Quay Street Food Market takes place every Tuesday and Thursday from 12 pm to 2 pm. This market offers a choice of different styles – authentic Thai, Cantonese, Greek, Spanish and Malaysian, as well as food inspired by the Middle East, Vietnam and Korea. There is something for everyone at Temple Quay Street Food Market; whether you are stopping by after arriving in Bristol by train or meeting with work colleagues, this is the perfect spot! This market caters for all diets, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and Halal.

Finzels Reach Street Food Market

Finzels Reach Street Food Market happens every Wednesday and Friday lunchtime (11 am to 2 pm) and offers an array of different foods from around the world. Catering to all diets, the market line-up changes twice weekly to provide an ever-changing selection of food to enjoy. The market is conscious of the environment and does not allow single-use plastic, offering eco-friendly, green alternatives.
