There are so many great ones to choose from whether you’re after the best vegan, the healthiest, a boozy brunch, or just some good ol’ coffee to accompany a classic English brekkie. We thought we had the hard job of narrowing down to our best five, but we'll leave the hardest job of picking one (we recommend trying all) over to you.

Gloucester Road local coffee
FED 303
Gloucester Road is famous for its independent shops and its breakfast offerings are no different. With loads of independent cafes to choose from FED 303 is up there with the best. Serving comforting, nourishing, and healthy food the chalked-up menu displays breakfast options, morning bakes, seasonal salads, and an array of savories and pastries (spoilt for choice really). But not only will you be fed well in FED but their coffee hits the spot. Sourced from Yallah Coffee in Falmouth Cornwall it’s a real hit with locals and morning commuters.
Best vegan breakfast in Bristol
Stokes Croft – The Bristolian
Bristol is a city of many personalities, The Bristolian epitomises Bristol’s old-school hippy vibe in the heart of Montpelier. The atmosphere is laidback yet colourful and serves up a proper hearty breakfasts and lunch to wash down with an amazing selection of hot and soft drinks alongside an array of alcoholic beverages to choose from (does a bloody Mary count as one of your five a day?). There are lots of veggie options and we’re just putting it out there… the best vegan breakfast in Bristol! It’s so good in fact that even your furry friends can come along for the experience, as we believe no one should miss out on The Bristolian.
Breakfast with a view
Harbourside – Mud Dock
Start your day the Mud Dock way! Their bountiful menu will have you over-ordering (we suggest looking at the menu before you go, or panic offer). From pancakes, eggs benedict to a full English you can enjoy whatever you choose with an eggcellent view of Bristol Harbourside.
The local hero
Bedminster – Toast Room
A huge Bedminster favourite! A friendly and truly independent eatery, with potted plants and cheery tunes to compliment the teal and white walls and colourful Formica furniture create a welcoming atmosphere. The owners are huge advocates for locally sourced Bristol produce, therefore all produce used is located within a 50mile radius of the café and the menu comprises light bites and hot beverages. Inspired from their travels in Europe, The Toast Room menu is made up of various light bite options including gluten-free, veggie, and vegan. We highly recommend one of their Hashes!
Upmarket breakfast on a terrace
Clifton - Square Kitchen
Grab your friends you’re going to a boozy brunch! Available on Sundays, this hidden gems menu is full of seasonal, unique and locally sourced dishes complimented with exceptional wine and cocktails right in the heart of Clifton. Nestled off Berkeley Square you can enjoy Sunday brunch alfresco-style rain or shine in their Secret Garden terrace. Now we may be biased but trust us on this, the southern fried buttermilk chicken waffle is a gift from god.
