Bristol's Best Walks For Summer

Bristol harbour side

A walk around Bristol Harbour Side cannot be missed when you visit Bristol. Between chic cafes, cargo restaurants and colourful boats resting on the harbours edge- the Harbour Side provides a stunning setting for a sunny afternoons walk. Close to the SS Great Britain, the Water Shed Museum and We the Curious the Harbour Side provides plenty of fun aside from a sunny walk.

Leigh woods

Along the Eastern side of the Avon Gorge a woodland walk through Leigh woods provides serenity and incredible views across to the Clifton suspension bridge and rolling hills of Somerset. With an Iron Age hillfort, industrial quarries and a working railway, Leigh woods is accompanied by some scenic pit-stop spots.

Ashton court

Just across from Leigh woods is Ashton Court, entering through the grand gothic gateway entrance is an 850-acre estate. Walking through the park you can spot herds of deer as you watch the sunset over Bristol city centre. Beautiful wildflower meadows and miniature lakes provide peace just beyond the city. Not only is Ashton court great for walking but also has a number of cycle trails and bike rental if you’re looking for more high speed adventure!

The Downs

A protected expanse of green parkland on the edge of the city, the downs provides the perfect spot for an afternoon walk and Picnic! Within a short walking distance from the Suspension Bridge, and the delicious foodie scene of Clifton, you can enjoy a walk around the downs followed by an evening pint.

Brandon Hill Park

A visit and walk around Brandon cannot be missed if you’re paying Bristol a visit. The park is home the Cabot tower, climb up this 105ft tower to get the best (and free) panoramic views across the city! For the best experience visit as the sun sets taking perch on a park bench or at the top of Cabot tower itself. With natural ponds, water features and hilly path routes Brandon hill park is the perfect spot to chill!
