We were recently awarded a Bronze Green Tourism Award, for our commitment to the environment! So here are the things that we are doing in order to maintain that commitment.

Reduced Single-use plastics

We have reduced single-use plastics across the hotels, opting for more sustainable solutions when we can.

Energy

Not only have we renegotiated our energy contracts, meaning that we get more bang for our buck, encouraging us not to use more, but we have also implemented targets to reduce our consumption year by year. We have installed LED lights in each of our hotel rooms, to further reduce the amount we are consuming, and encourage staff and guest to be conscious of their own consumption.

Water

We have put posters up in our hotel rooms, asking guests to consider how much water they are using, particularly when it comes to washing of towels. We are happy to replace towels for guests, but will only do so if they place their towels in the bath. This has led to a reduction in not only water costs, but our towels will now last longer as a result of having less washes over its lifetime.

Transport

We have replaced 75% of the vans in our fleet with electric vans, reducing our carbon emissions. We are also able to offer all of our employees membership in the First Bus Travel Club, which provides a discount on all First Bus journeys. This will encourage our staff to use public transport more often.
