At Clifton Hotels, we care deeply about our community and are always thinking of ways to improve and be a greater part of it. Let us take you through the things that we do to make the world a better place.
Sustainability: Green Tourism
Having recently won a Bronze Green Tourism award, sustainability is at the forefront of our minds. We have been reducing our waste by replacing towels only upon request, and 75% of our van fleet is now electric, which has reduced our emissions. We have also got a partnership with First Bus giving discounts to our staff, encouraging them to take public transport when they can.
Partnership with Bristol Beacon
We are a proud partner of Bristol Beacon, a music venue and charity dedicated to the arts and creativity in Bristol. Our partnership not only supports their work as a charity - changing lives through live music and access to the arts - but means that Bristol Beacon ticket holders can get a 20% discount on their hotel stay with us and artists and businesses visiting the Beacon receive discounted group room bookings. Our funding goes towards fantastic projects that help those in the local community better access music and the arts, inspiring the creativity of future generations.
“Partnerships like the one we have with Clifton Hotels are so valuable to the work we do. When businesses support charities, amazing things can happen and this year, Clifton Hotels’ support has meant that we can continue to deliver our programme of creative learning reaching over 30,000 young people, our work nurturing emerging local music industry talent, and our work with diverse communities such as our award-winning work with care-experience young people.” - Kate Smith, Development Manager, Bristol Beacon. Charity of the Year: Jessie May
Every year our company votes on a charity to support and this year we have been helping Jessie May Children’s Charity. We have fundraised for them in a variety of ways, like our ‘cycle to Paris’ event, where staff had to cycle on a stationary bike to run up the number of miles from Bristol to Paris. While we may not have made it all the way, it was for a good cause! Supporting Jessie May is an immense privilege, the work that they do providing care for sick children and their families is incredibly important, and we are proud to be doing our bit to support them. We encourage you to do the same, please visit their website and donate if you can.
